KS Training 2019 - 2020 EMT Course Information


KS Training will be holding it's next Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) course starting October 18, 2019.

  • Start Date: Friday October 18, 2019
  • Class Days/Hours: Tuesday and Friday nights, 6pm—10pm (There will be 1 Saturday Class)

This course is approximately 6 months in length and uses a combination of classroom lecture and discussions, hands-on skills, self study and ambulance observation time. Upon successful completion of the course the student will have met all requirements for National Registry EMT testing and to apply for certification in the State of Kentucky as an Emergency Medical Technician.

The course contains classroom lecture and discussions, hands-on skills, self study and ambulance observation time. It's important the student understand that this course will require a certain amount of physical activity, including:

  • Lifting and moving simulated patients
  • Kneeling, crawling during scenarios
  • Lifting and carrying EMS equipment

Please Note: Students are REQUIRED to have an internet enabled device such as a laptop or tablet available to them. This is required in order to be able to utilize the MyBradyLabs tools. Students will also be required to bring their laptop/tablet to class on test nights as tests will be given via the MyBradyLab site. KS Training has a limited number of Chromebooks available for rent at an additional charge.


It's also Very Important that the student understands that in order to succeed in this course they will need to spend between 8-12 hours OUTSIDE of class reading, studying, completing workbook assignments in order to be prepared to participate in class! We have found after years of experience that the students that do the best are the ones that put in the extra effort. They are also the students that typically pass the NREMT exam on their first try.

Tuition is $625. This amount covers

  • "Emergency Care" 13th edition, textbook
  • MyBradyLab Online Study Tools
  • CPR Certification
  • CPR Pocket Mask

Payment methods we accept:

Outlined below are three payment options offered to each prospective student.


  • Payment Option 1

    With this option the student pays the entire $600.00 cost of course up front.

  • Payment Option 2

    With this option the student pays an initial down payment of $300.00 with their application. The remaining $325.00 would need to be paid on or before the first class.

  • Payment Option 3

    This option is similar to #2, but with more flexibility for the student!

    With this option the student pays an initial down payment of $300.00 with their application.

    The remaining balance of $300.00 is paid over 2 more payments, one of $175 and then another for $150...

    • Payment #1 is due the first night of class
    • Payment #2 is payable 30 days after the first night of class

  • Be 18 years of age or older by completion of program.

  • Not convicted of a felony, misdemeanor, or other crime directly related to ability to perform the duties of an EMT.

  • Not be a person who compulsively and habitually uses drugs, controlled substances

  • Does not use alcohol to the extent that it may affect his/her ability to perform the duties of Emergency Medical Technician.

  • Hold a least a High School diploma or GED

  • Understand and be able to read, speak, and write the English language on at least a High School level.
